our process

We work only with natural fibres and source our yarns locally and overseas. Some of our yarns we hand spin ourselves and others are commercially produced.

Richard hand dyes the yarns in small batches and together we decide on the perfect combination for warp and weft.

Each scarf is woven by hand on a rigid heddle loom which is made from native New Zealand timber. It is then tasseled and gently washed to allow the fibres to bloom before being dried in the sun.

It is a slow but meditative process, and it’s hard not to become attached to each creation!
